This and that. then and now. "no kanzler porn !!" he sez
Ugh, me eyes and brain ache..
Ive been working on this presentation outline for two weeks and still feel like I havent accomplished much. Im supposed to present information on Konrad Adenauer and Willy Brandt tomorrow morning in my world leaders class.
Not ready for it and since its for bonus points only, I think I'll wait till next week to do it.
Ive had to dig deep to find a lot of this info and utilize my rusting German skills. I mean, these guys are famous in Germany, but the rest of the world doesnt give a crap about dead German politicians. Of course, I would choose to be different and research those two.
Germans voted Adenauer the greatest German of all time.. oh, yaaay....
Willy Brandt won a nobel peace prize for Ostpolitik.. oh, yaaay....

I can't, for the life of me, see how Adenauer beat Otto von Bismarck in that poll -.-
I mean, cmon, Blood and Iron !! Blooooooood and Iron !!
Maybe I just havent learned anything from my research.. blah.

Brandt is scary looking.. I have one pic where he looks like Jack Nicholson as the Joker with lots more wrinkles.
@_@

Aside from this, its been an okay day.
I arrived at work at 4:48 this morning after watching the new PM Kurogane and Gash Bell episodes. It was a relatively slow day with not a single person requiring valet assistance. I then made a resolution to do more of something I highly neglect: book reading. I dont like fiction books though. Im my mind, I have plenty of fictional stories to keep me entertained. Thus, my interests in books lie in the scholarly types. Opinions and analysis and reviews on historical and political fact and commentary. I picked up a seemingly nice publication called the Intercollegiate Review at the university the other day and attempte dto read some of it today. It was tedious and hard to follow. One didnt make note when it was the original text and when the review and another was just a bunch of yap yap with no direction or focus. I skipped to its summary and wasnt too surprised to see that it lacked one.
Frustrated, I turned to drawing..
Aaaah Lycidas.. the object of Ghamuret's affection..
whoa, wait a minute...
*blush*
I cant believe I just drew that !!
I was so embarrassed when I looked at what I had on the paper. Lycidas, should he be real, would mercilessly torture me for a thousand milleniums for it !!
It was to be an innoccent, beautiful scene when Ghamuret embraced the man he loved (in a fantasy cause Lycidas isnt the least bit interested in man-love much to Ghamuret's despair.)

"Let me comfort you.. Let me hold you close and absolve you of your sins.... ... .... Now give me head !!"

He's not doing that in the drawing, but it sure looks to be an implied outcome.-.-*
Embarrassed, I went to the airport gift shop, and I bought a book.
I had wanted the one on the Third Reich that they had, but it was too pricy. Instead, I picked up a book called Useful Idiots: How Liberals Got it Wrong in the Cold War and Still Blame America First. Its a highly biased book, but one that makes a lot of sense and offers lots of evidence to support the author's (Mona Charen) argument . Its also highly entertaining. I kept reading it for most of my shift and I only usually do that when I have to for a class.
Now, Im not well read on the Vietnam Era and after unlike the Soviet part of the Cold War that I know quite a bit about, so a lot of the stuff about Vietnam I found interesting. I could make a lot of comparisons to today that I wouldnt have imagined before. I wont go into that though.
But I am very glad that I am fortunate enough to miss out on that period of our history.

After work, I paid on my pretty PT Cruiser's note and was upset to find out I get no money back from that hellish stats class I dropped back in february. Then took a trip to slumberland until I awoke to work on my outline some more.
As I did so, my mom noticed my book and was asking my dad about it. He said it was mine and she didnt believe him =(
"Why would she read something like that?"

*sigh*
I go now.
