I got my term paper on Immigration Issues in Germany back today in my Euro politics class and I feel much more confident that my amazing ability to do a last minute BS paper and get an A hasnt faded as originally speculated. This of course is coupled with the fact that I got an A on my European diplomacy paper as well... Yes yes, I feel good.... but there's nothing like a bad grade to counter a good one. I recently attempted to get a schein for the totalitarianism lecture I took last winter in Passau, Germany. Today, I got a schein minus a grade, but my 4 page essay exam was included. I got a friggen 4 !!!! A FOUR !! Thats the equivalent of a D... I was gonna use this grade to pass on taking my last IS elective, but damn !! Im too ashamed to attempt it. How the holy hell could I get such a low grade on comparing nazis to commies? Ive proven before that I can do it blindfolded and get an A+... GRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!! This exam was like a usual essay exam. You get a set of very general questions and choose one to write on within an hour and a half. So I wrote ! I used the notes I had and even looked on with others. At the time, I had also been reading an extensive piece of literature about the Third Reich (which I left with Sarah and hasnt been returned yet). I tried to incorporate all the ideas I had studied in this essay and yet.. She says: "Very weak piece of work. You must learn much more." I cant read the main word in the next sentance.. her handwriting isnt very clear, but its something about the work not very much. I didnt think it through enough or something. Then she says it has bad structure because I... well, I dont really understand that last sentance too well in literal terms.. Basically it means that I dont know crap about how to write in German and didnt learn the material well enough >.< Excuse me for attempting to convey your political thought through crappy German !! But I know, now, also, that I wasnt the only one who made this grade.. Gyah.. I had my most intellectual conversations in Germany. I seldom discuss my interests now ith anyone on political history. I dont know anyone else with an interest and many others Ive encountered dont know enough to make a nice logical opinon. Jess sometimes does instigate the conversation on political history and just plain politics and complimented me by saying he thought I was the only one who really knew anything that he could talk to. There are things about talking that topic with him though that I dont quite care for, but I like to give him a little education on history when I can. I got a 98 on my self portrait drawing final.. She really liked it but it wasnt the best in the class, so I had points deducted.. Still my best grade in the class though. That wasnt my only final today... Earlier, I took a final for European diplomacy that I didnt study much for. The material I felt I knew really well, and Im quite sure I made an A. It was a damn long test though. My hand was aching like you wouldnt believe ! The first part was 10 short answer questions. Then there was five short essay questions and finally a major essay. There were two short answer I wasnt to fresh on but the rest were fine and the major essay was VERY general. It was describe foriegn policy of Prussia/Germany since 1800. I worth six whole pages !! my exam took up every single page in the exam booklet !! Oh, and I made a 97 on my term paper in that class ^_^ So, basically, two As are confirmed. I came home and went back to inspecting my playback problem of some avi files of fansubs I d/led off bit torrent. Many had green screens and crazy pixels revealing tiny pieces of the picture. I upgraded divx and even reinstalled it with no luck. I also tried four different media players. Same problem.. Finally.. I got rid of ever single codec on the pc even divx again and then redownloaded just divx. It worked ! Is it strange to think Timothy Hutton looks hot as the main professor guy in that movie The Dark Half? Ah well.. Finished my self portrait.... looks like Im a sad sad woman, lol.. seriously.. It makes me look like my world has ended !! Oh well, just as long as I get a friggen A for the course... Now, for a sightly brief and random note.. Bad Anime: Dr. Rin - tired, familiar plot desperate for that creative edge. The artwork is poor and uneccesarily cg loaded. Characters are dull and lack anything unique. I can name a ton of anime guys who look just like Asuka. Condor Hero - just yuck. It may get better, but I dont really care. Its like a new version of FOTNS without all the cheeze and taking place in ancient China.. I think.. Good Anime: Shingetsutan Tsukihime - good vampire and human partner vs supernatural forces anime. The genre is overrun with okay to utterly lame shows, but this one has a refreshingly nice twist to it. I keep wanting to see more ! The main character has a really lame personality like his snooty sister, but thats okay !! Chrno Crusade - bwahaahahaa !! I really enjoyed this one and sure as hell want them to hurry with more fansubs !! Its yet another (uhg) agency with main human and demon partner fighting supernatural forces, but it really draws you in with a splended amount of comedy, visuals, and action. Yeah, I took a physics final today........ It was horrible..... I read every chapter last night and still found the test insanely difficult. DAMN YOU QUANTUM MECHANICS !! It was crazy when I got there too.. I mean, the parking lot is always full and Im always late to that class cause I have to park at another building and walk there, but I assumed that with no classes, the parking lot would have spaces.. I was dead wrong.. In fact, not only was it overflowing full and people resorting to parking in the insane number of faculty spaces (a strictly enforced fine of $25), but there was at least 28 cars driving up and down the lot waiting.. There was 3 minutes to test time. I quickly gave up and went to the next building over which generally has spaces available, but only waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out there.. like a mile from the building. Luckily, the very first spot on the very first row was free.. University Parking indeed sucks @_@... They shouldnt spend so much money on a friggen speed bump every three feet and use the money for a shuttle to bring lazy people from the dorms to help relieve parking in pretty much all the lots. I remember when I was a freshman/sophomore, I discovered a secret.. There was a neglected parking lot on the backside of the humanities building way off the main road. Parking was always readily available and I enjoyed it.. However, word got out. Now, in the morning, its not even worth trying to get to class early. That lot is also FULL. I need to do a self portrait today as my drawing final to turn in tomorrow eve. Shouldnt be too hard. NumaRei No Con anime cnvention is this weekend in New Orleans and Im off from work !! Too bad Im strapped for cash -.-, but I still would like to go and check it out since its free and in driving distance (about 2 hours). Its kinda small and relatively lame in appeal, but its new and trying to get on a good footing so I guess I should support it. Id like to convince Elfie to go with me, but its real short notice. Id be a grand wish come true if I could though *sigh* Id have an excuse to wear my kami outfit for him ! XD Regarding Warui, this has been the shittiest month ever for my online comic. I got home today at around 2:30pm... Ive been on the morning shift the past few days and had to wake up around 3am to be there at 5am.. Last night, after a VERY rainy typical my crazy family (my mom and her siblings still act like they're 12 -.-; allllwaaays arguing and teasing each other about something that happened 30 years ago..)thanksgiving, I went to bed at 6pm. When I got home today, I tried my best to stay awake..... I had enough sleep the night before, but I still felt drained. Sadly, I succumbed to my sleepiness around 3:30pm today... By 9:30pm tonight, I was wide awake.. MOU >.< I need to be at work at 5am and I cant sleep anymore !! Yesterday was hellish at work....... One complaint after the other and it was all nothing I could do something about. OF course, I have to take their crap anyways. One guy was pissed cause the parking lot shuttle driver (a long golf cart with a fancy sign) wouldnt come out in the heavy rain and wind to get him. I explained, the parking lot is not the airport, but another company. What they will or will not do is not something I have a say in or something anyone else at the airport will take care of. Then one guy complains that the short term parking lot gate wont work, but he told the attendant and she said to tell the airport authority.. LIES !! >.< this guy was such a jack-ass.. He proceeded to tell me that even if there was a tornado out there that someone should be out fixing it, and how everytime he comes to our aiport there's something wrong and that it was like a dungeon... He's flown aaaaaaaallllllll over the world and ours is by far THE WORST... Yeah right.. I wanted to tell him that Ive flown all over too, and that our airport is a simple stroll around the block compared to other airports. Mobile Regional Airport is very small and very easy to navigate. In fact, its designed to be idiot proof. There are large signs with symbols pointing you in the right directions to go for parking and so on. Ive had the complaint before that we didnt have any.. And its so hard to tell a person they werent paying attention. Before I worked there, I had no problem finding where I needed to be. Besides, there's only two ways you go... left or right.. both take you to a parking lot -.- READ THE SIGNS PEOPLE !! At my desk, we put up HUGE arrival and departure screen signs.. STILL, people look at the wrong board first or walk right up to me and ask "Where are your flight boards?" "umm, right next to me ma'am..." people walk in the door "Where's the ..... ?" "baggage claim" "Right there." *points to it* "restrooms" "Right there." *points to it* "Gate whatever" "Upsatirs where it says ALL GATES" And its crazy when people come to me and get out all their tickets and IDs and want me to do checkin and boarding passes........... DAMNIT !! GET YER ASS OVER TO YOUR AIRLINE COUNTER RIGHT THERE ! *points at it* Gaaaawwww.... Its frustrating.. and gonna get worse over the holidays when people get pissier in general.. Holiday Spirit is a MYTH when it comes to the services sector. One of the good things about Germany was that the season wasnt insanely commercialized. It was very laid back and actually real nice. Maybe thats cause I was just in a small village, but still... People there I didnt even know real well kept giving me chocolates and satsumas that made me and the other foriegn students break out, lol. So anyways, one last complaint.. I got a call from some crazy twit who wanted to know the name of the airport manager and the name of the district manager for Northwest. She bitched and bitched about how no one was at the customer service counter around 11:30pm and I tried to tell her that a cop told her they should be there till 12.. Thats a bunch of crap... We leave whenever the last plane arrives and everyone knows that... I tried to tell her that we were gone before 11:30 usually, but NOOOOOOOO, thats not what this mystery cop told her. So she wants to complain cause no one was there to help her. Incidentally enough, One cop that was working that night says he told the woman when she approached him as he was goofing off playing pinball (whoops) that they usually werent there and that there was a sign and a phone on the desk for her to call if she needed assistance. He said that pissed her off and then he laughed. Her real problem was with Northwest though. The lady went to take care of her rental car and left her bags on the baggage belt for an hour or so. Well, her bags were taken off the belt since they went unclaimed after the flight. When she decided to get them, no one was around to get them for her so she had to go without them. She was demanding they be shipped to her but they wanted to charge her double for deliverying on the holiday.. She felt she should have it for free. So she goes on and on about how she doesnt care if its the holidays and everyone at the airport who wasnt there was going to be fired when she was through.... and god damn she was so sure of herself !! She even went as far to say that Ramone with NW should have a happy thanksgiving cause she was gonna have him fired and deported (he's from somewhere in South America). Oh and the cust service agent that left their post would be fired, blah blah.. and "You'd think that with all the capabilities to sue these days, people would be more courteous... I had my brain tumor medicine in there, HEEEELLLLOOOO, law suit !" I just listened and hung up when she was finished.. what a load of crap, lol. I hate people sometimes... if you are nice then maybe youd get good customer service... Thats pretty obvoius I thought, and normally its not a big problem at work.... But as I said.. Holidays make people turn into EVIL sloppering monsters.. Which brings me to my point !! no, not the "Im bitching about my cushy job where I do practically nothing all day" Thats just the basic point !! The point is !! In my Foriegn Policy class, we were broken into groups to make presentation on a particular FP issue. My group consistent of two other people got Weapons of Mass Destruction (dun dun dun)... It wasnt my first choice.. or even my second or third, but that was the only group needing someone when the signup sheet came to me. For my part of the report, I was going to analyse Cold War era WMD policy. This turned out to be five pages long. The complete paper of all of our work was supposed to be ten pages so I feel I did plenty for my part. As for ctually presenting it, we were all confused... We decided not to use power point cause it would take time we didnt have. That and the other power point presentations were totally lame. HAD I ONLY KNEW !!! Friday was our day... I didnt know anything about what they wanted to do.. I had prepared myself to do what I knew was best and that was it. Whatever and however their minds were made up was their own. LUCKY !! Dr. Morris apprroaches me and says he need to get to the International Festival !! That meant we could go on Monday.. We talked briefly and that was it.. Monday rolls around.. I sneak into the classroom early and write key points on the board and review my little note scribblings. It was time.. Im standing by what I wrote and the other two are across the room at the podium looking at me like "what the hell is she doing?" I tell the guy to go ahead and start so we can do it in order of the paper. He begins....... My jaw drops......... That bastard is looking down reading the report verbatum and doesnt once even look up... The girl repeats the same thing.. I had to shake my head.. Rule #1 of public speaking was being violated.. When I took the reigns, I spoke TO the class, moved around, used gestures and pointed out my points only looking down occasionally at my little notes held in my hand... I didnt read from my report or look away or lean on some podium.. A girl that has three classes with me agreed that mine was very good and much better than theirs.... Theirs was horrible..... I wonder whose idea it was to make Hameln this cold, quiet person with an overall dull personality in the anime. As I watch the episodes further into the series, Ive been following the story closely in the manga. Its just as in the movie !! I was shocked to see that Hameln was a loud obnoxious oaf in the movie, but that version of him was more true to the original story it seems @_@ Flute, too, is a whiney, little, sensitive crybaby in the anime, but 10x more amusing and active in the manga/movie.. An hour or so ago, I clicked the end button and proceeded to bury my face on my pillow as I started to cry again. There was probably no reason to... could be pms screwing with my emotions, but I feel worried... like maybe I did or said something I shouldnt have... When I start to think this, I cry and cry.. No one ever knows when or if I do. Its a rare occurance nowadays, but its happened twice in the past week. Maybe with all the work Ive been doing, Ive just been penting up frustration and I cant really release it except in the form of tears.. I need him... And miss him dearly... I want so badly to wrap my arms around him and do nothing but hold him close to me... and I will continue to wait for that moment if it takes another five years.. And maybe one day, instead of saying "You should find someone else." he'll only say "Im very lucky to have you... and I never want to let go of you." and my heart will be full of pure glee. *smiles and sighs a good sigh* Yes, I will wait for him !! So, whats been up lately? School... Work... School... Work... Its not a new cycle.. Its actually one Ive been caught in since I was a senior in high school back in '97-'98.. I'll be a college senior next semester... On the course to graduation in fact (finally). I need to take world leaders (which is a Saturday morning class that lasts 3 hours !! blargh @_@.. The prof isnt one of my faves either..) I also need to take a math or science without a lab, an International Studies seminar that happens to be International Gender studies.. uuhhggg...), and another art class. I may also have to do something for German to get two credits. Not sure yet.. One of my Passau grades was crappy so they want me to make the credits up somehow >.< but I already took every German course at the UNI I could possibly take !! My prof suggested the Classicism course, but I took that the same semester I did Composition.. Anyhoo....... Ready to get it over with !!! Finals are in two weeks !! I think @_@ Im sure I will receive two As, two Bs, and a C (The future is bleak for Physics) this semester.. But if I work hard and do my best to get those goals, I'd really like to have him come visit me as a reward for making it through the semester !! teehee ^_^ In Jrock news, Meh... I havent been much into jrock fanaticism lately. I downloaded a couple of songs the other day, but havent even listened to them. Some by JILS, Sarii, and Pleur... I dont even know what any of them sound like.. I did watch a cheezy Moi dix Mois interview today though, lol... It wasnt anything too thrilling... kinda dull actually.. I have their PV halfway downloaded, but no one seems to have the remaining segment of the file. It seems really lame though from what Ive watched and reeks of Malice Mizer (aside from the Gackt-like vocals).. Even has that same stupid mansion in it that was in like 4 Malice Mizer PVs. Ive also got (most) of Izam's Koi Shite Kura Kura PV and the scariest thing about it is that Izam is trying to look like a normal guy.... but he just looks like a girl dressed like a guy >.< I wish I could find more stuff by Raoya =| they arent jrock but they sure are hard to find.. Anyone got any ideas? My cd of choice to listen to in my car has been the one I made of Aioria's one album. They're such a great Visual Indies band. It truly sucks that they only made one album then split up cause the guitarist wanted to do metal =(.. Even so, they are easily one of my favorite groups at the moment.. Im d/l some of their demo stuff now ^o^ btw, I noticed the jrock rooms on winmx are dead T_T such a shame !! On to anime !! I went on a dvd buying craze the other day and bought some anime which I will now review: Samurai Deeper Kyo This is probaly my fave of the bunch.. ONI ME NO KYOOO !!  Which of the Samurai Deeper Kyo Cast Are You? brought to you by Quizilla Its a good story and interesting to follow.. Its like how Kenshin should have been I think.. or at least, a good follow up to kenshin if youve finished it or just cant take any more !! Takes place around the time Tokugawa came to power (as opposed to Meiji era Kenshin) when a seemingly invincible demon-eyed killer awakens in the body of his enemy and searches to regain his own body. Yummy stuff. Final Fantasy Unlimited This is cute and rather interesting, but it has some flaws. Kaze is hot and all, but he's boringly invincible for the most part. He's got one weapon and one power thats good enough to defeat (almost) every enemy. An enemy comes, wussy kids and weird girl hide, Kaze shows up, uses his same SOIL sequence summon... bye bye bad guy.. Im not a fan of Studio Gonzo's work either. The CG doesnt blend well.. It stands out like a sore thumb, and I know they can do better than that. Corrector Yui This is just mahou shoujo eye candy.. I like it, but its not on my MUST SEE MORE **NOW** list.. Just a girl who goes into her pc to fight baddies in her magic suit.. whoo.. not much more to it. And I hate her Fuu hairstyle !! Animation Runner Kuromi Aaaahh, good cheap short laughs.. Its not very long but an amusing piece of anime on crack about a girl who suddenly gets an animation producer job shoved on her when a deadline becomes impossible to make. Seriously though, its not one you should rush to see.. Kenshin OVA 2 I finally got to see this after waiting a year or so and boy is the end of Kenshin about as depressing as the beginning. Its too bad Einishi was such a fruitcake.. He was hot !! The battle for revenge could have been better too I thought. I was dissapointed.. Anyhoo, its all about KENJI now *drool* stupid dead Shinta !! King of Bandit Jing Very interesting indeed.. A bandit boy with a pervert gun bird that has the creepy-ass voice of Freezer (Naoko Ryuusei). They go around and help people too of course =| not too much fun in that, but it has caught my interests. I will definitely want to see more. Super Gals Bwahahahahaaa !! This series so reeks of a odd side of feminism. All guys are bad or totally ignorant and its up to the GALS to stand up to them. Gals are a steryotype it seems of a certain type of preppy, trend-crazy young girls who where the latest fashions and get faux nails. Steam Detectives I havent really watched this yet though I saw the first episode a while back... But we'll see if it remains decent. *new section* Reviews on Fansubs I downloaded Peace Keeper Kuroyume Episode 1 was highly entertaining !! Its a tale that takes place about the same time the first Kenshin OVA begins. A young (red-headed) boy is determined to join the Shinsengumi (police/asassasin group of the Tokugawa of which Saitou in Kenshin was a member) and learns that he must become a devil to do their kind of work.. heehee, Kami likey the pretty yaoi-type killer guy with the crazy pig !! Tenchi Muyo: Ryo-Ouki OVA 3 Pretty boring for the most part.. It has lots of flashbacks so there's not much new to see except Tokimi's new henchman. It also amuses me to see that they kept Achika's original name... The creator never named her Achika and in fact, called her Kiyone.. A new person did all the Tenchi stuff with GP Kiyone so they had to change Tenchi's mother's name. Since the OVA is the original guy's work, she is called Kiyone.. I wonder if they will carry that over in the domestic release. Papuwa I'd sure like to live on that island... Its like, the island of bishounens !! 'cept for fruity animals like goofy giant snails and fish with lipstick and legs that have fishnet stockings *shudder*... Today I purchased a Grumpy bear plushie backpack !! We went to the international festival today.. It was mildly entertaining, but all too similar to previous years. Some countries were so cliche... Take Germany for example. The booth was just castle pictures and pretzles... *rolls her eyes* I bought some gooood pocky at the Japan exhibit, but they didnt have any cream collon, lol. For food, they had 20 different countries to chose from. I had a Greek Gyro, a crab Rangoon from the Taiwan booth, a Japanese sushi roll, some odd turkey roll from the Bangladesh booth that Jess said tasted the way old spice smells, and some gross fried plantains from the Puerto Rico booth. While we mulled around the food, we watched some african tribal dance on the stage that was really neat and then listened to some eastern european (not sure which country, but I thought maybe polish or slovak) folk music where one guy had this huge triangular shaped guitar. We made fun of the guy with the digereedoo (sp?).. he was a dork, lol.. alas, that was a lamely worded last couple of sentances, lol. I also saw Robert with maintainance at the airport there in a kilt cause his wife was heading the scottish booth. lol, he told me not to tell anyone at work I saw him in a skirt. Yes, Im back !! but for how long? Ive had a few complaints that I havent been updating and I have good reasons. Lesseee, whats happened? We'll start with September: 1. I started school with the following classes: Tis truly a full plate that has eaten my time and desire to be active away. 2. We hired a new employee at work and after two weeks (in which time she filed a complaint against Simon for sexual harrasment), she quit leaving us in a bind and me averaging at 38 hours a week. 3. For my birthday, we went to the Grand Casino and I won $138 playing the Double Diamond slot machine with quarters that came from cashing in scraped up pennies around the house. I was pleased. In all, I had $300 for my birthday to spend at Anime Weekend Atlanta. 4. My Saturn is now gone.. I fell in love with a vehicle in the lot of a used car dealership and promptly purchased it. The price was a deal. with taxes and title included: $11,543 for a 2002 Silver PT Cruiser with 26,000 miles on it. I decided when they first came out that the car I wanted was a PT. I loves them cars and certainly love mine. The dealer bought my junky POS Saturn for $500 cash he had when I went to get my PT. I wasnt sad to part with it. Both my brother and aunt were pissed that I didnt give it to one of them, but it wasnt very reliable, and I wanted the money I got for it to pay off my tuition payment plan loan. I also got a little panda doll from my cousin for my Bday and it now peers through my windshield ^_^ 5. Anime Weekend Atlanta was completely uneventful and not very well organized I thought. We, my brother and cousin Andrew included, stayed at the hotel and didnt do much outside of sleep and shop. I dressed up as Kami from Warui with a Kagura bear in arm, but no one seemed to notice me. Though one girl did take my picture, lol. We passed out business cards for the comic but didnt get a huge turnout afterwards. As far as purchasing, I acquired the following: (such an amusing name for a snack treat) Moving on to October....... ummmm....... hmmm... Nothing really memorable about October. This journal did have its 1yr birthday !! I went to Germany on August 31/September 1 of last year... so its been a year since my German excursion and I must say that I had a great experience there and miss it more than I imagined I would. I miss the people too. Sarah, Rebecca, Neil, Amy, Rachel, Stephen, Selena, Orla, Owen, Fred, Andrea... I dont talk to them anymore. Sometimes I talk to Rebecca, and I saw Sarah a few times when she came back for the break. We were both too busy to hang out and catch up on things, and now she's back in Passau. I was told that Fred and Marta broke up. I find that amusing. And unfortunately, one of my Irish friends died in Spain last month. It was very sad cause she was so nice. Her name I dont know how to spell correctly.. Shivaughn something like that. She was the one whose father was German and fell for Owen. On another note: I FINALLY got a Schein from Herr Bockel. It was typed out on July 4th and I got it yesterday November 3rd. I left Germany on February 12th.. Thats really damn pathetic >.< German efficiency is a MYTH !!! My classes arent going too well this semester. I went overboard with my hours and took too many. Its sometimes hard for me to study sometimes with all my classes and long work days. Im not failing or anything, but Im not doing my best either. There's only two classes Ive been to everyday too, and one's a physics lab class that you absolutely HAVE TO attend. My drawing teacher slaps my wrist everytime I turn around. She isnt a big fan of my drawings, but she did say I have a unique style and excellent design. Too bad I suck at Contrast according to her. I have "contrast issues". My drawing assignment grades have been: 88, 94, 96, 88..... Luckily it all ends in a month. @_@ Work? Not much else to report... Sgt. Green was discovered to be a closet pervert who took pics of women with the surveillance cameras and stored them in his desk... October was a shitty month because about 15 conventions came to town and the all wanted our shuttle. It was annoying and hectic. I also applied for a supervisor position with US Airways, so Im hoping to move up in the world. *crosses her fingers* I worked a trade show a few weeks ago where I did more than was asked of me and got a heaping dose of praise to all my managers from the organizers, so I feel I should make my move while thats still fresh in their minds. The comic is going very well despite occasional problems like sites and images and scripts suddenly not working. Warui is not 7 comics strong and regularly updated every Monday as planned. Remember how I was all "whaaa, Im sooo bored and never have anything to do !!!" Well, no its completely opposite. Soooooooooo much happens within a week that I never can find the time or energy to write ! Lesee.. A couple weeks ago, I went and did some catering with the two valet guys, Colin and Griffin, on a tugboat for some economic developers and the two main airport bosses. It was interesting, but the food, especially the sushi, was awful, and I usually love sushi. It was catered by some fancy-schmancy downtown restaurant where a single dinner entre costs about $70. The other day, I received a coupon for two free lunches there -.- Score......... I guess..... considering how bad their catering was... Justines by the Pillars is what its called. Probably give them to the parents. Let them have a lunch date someplace ritzy. Work is good.... lots of interesting people around often and tales to tale.. Much I can remember in my mind, but not typed out. Maybe I should get more motivated. School starts Monday. I arranged my tuition payment today and will owe the credit union three installments of $290 in three months. Not bad at all. I payed $1200 down which really cleaned out my account =( My books were $344 when I ordered them online. Today after my tuition loan processed, I went to pick them up and they had given me a new book instead of a used one cause they were all out. That made nearly $400 on eleven books.... grrrr.. I got my parents to buy them anyways so its really not a big deal to me, but still.. I also realized today that I desperately need new clothes. I knew it was coming down to that but I never understood the severity of the situation. Ever since I came home from Germany in February, Ive been begging for new clothes, especially pants. I have no jeans anymore and maybe 3 decent pairs of capris, some fancy black pants, my khaki uniform pants, and tattered house shorts never to be worn in public. Of course, I dont have the money for any so I keep begging and begging. I managed to get some new underwear the other day without even asking. I guess my mom felt I really need some =| Oh, and I bought a gorgeous Kimono !! and a very nice Yukata !! I paid a lot for them -.- More than I can afford really. I also have two obi on order. One should arrive tomorrow from Yamatoku's site. Its two shades of blue with a pink set of camelias. The other I just won on ebay. Its a very lovely blue with white diamond shapes on it. Truly, it was irresistable, but it put me in another financial rut. I didnt notice till AFTER I won, that the seller doesnt accept paypal.. only check and money order. After tuition payment, I dont have enough money for the obi. Its $52 and I only have $50 at the moment till I get paid next week. Hopefully, Ill find a way to get it and not receive a negative feedback.. That'll teach me not to assume everything is done with paypal these days ! I wanted to get a parasol and hand fan to accesorize with (This is all for upcoming anime conventions... one in Atlanta and another in New Orleans), but kimono's have a god awful number of accesories to complete the look.. 3 koshi-himo, hadajyuban, nagajyuban, obi age, datejime, obijime.. Its insane !!! @_@ I need new sandals too !! Mine broke of course.. uhhgg, I dunno what Ive gotten myself into ! My evening costume I already have most of. Im gonna be my kami character from the warui comic. Found some blue and some purple fishnets I may get a few pairs of and maybe some cheap little jewelry for it as well as hair dye and makeup. My nose has been itchin' like crazy today. Mother says it means someone is coming to visit me. A good omen indeed ! Of course, I teased with my mom that its probably just the monthly visitor, but I think she knew who I really thought of right away. The only person I look forward to visiting me. I do hope I can convince him to come very soon. As for burning ears, no wives tale, the outer parts of my ears have been hurting pretty bad over the past few days. I think its due to a combination of hours on a cel phone and sleeping on them right after or in an odd position. May have to take a break from the cel phone for a while, but I really enjoy every moment I spend with elfie on the phone. Maybe Ill look into getting a phone addon to remedy this, or a phonecard, lol. Cause I needs my man ^o^ Yesterday was pretty damn freaky. I went in to work around 2 and about three hours later, a horrible storm rolled in. Now, it storms here everyday around three, but this particular storm was probably just as bad as any tropical storm. Prior to this, I had gone up to the concourse to search for a panda that a man said his daughter had left up there at Continental gate 7. The mother had called him and said she was all upset and it was her favorite doll. Melanie (my boss) was gonna go get it for him (only ticketed passengers are allowed there post-9/11), but she had to go get her badge in her office and since I had mine, I volunteered. Upon finding it hidden in the net full of legos at the kids center, I walked along the windows and observed the oncoming storm in the distance as background to the Orlando flight sitting at the gate. They were loading baggage and Robert, a Delta ticketing agent, was standing with a flight attendant in the door to the aircraft (its one of those you have to walk outside to board). The wind seemed to be harsh on them. It wasnt much longer after that when the storm began. Needless to say, that plane didnt make it off the ground for another hour or more. I was standing there with Melanie and Daphne when a crackling bolt targeted the nearby transformer. Melanie freaked out and ducked for cover while we watched as all power in the airport died instantly then was swiftly backed up by generators. The rain got worse. You could see NOTHING out the window from all the rain. Colin, a valet guy, had finished doing a car wash on a car that was from the valet lot and as he was driving it back to the lot lightning struck it and it only cut it off then it started right back up, he said, but it sure scared the living hell outta him. In normal parking, the arm on the gate was broken, so some lot employee, a young guy my age, ran out with a wrench to fix it when it got struck by lightning. It travelled to him of course and put him in shock. They rushed him to the hospital, but the moron came back to work that night and was there today. At one point in time, Melanie and I both answered the phones, which were naturally rininging like crazy, and suddenly, a bolt struck again and the phones went dead. She said if they hadnt cut off, she would have said bye and hung up anyways. @_@ It was a mess... The airport manager was running around like crazy trying to get everything back up. Kenny, the electrician, fixed the power quite easily and naturally the phones were fine. Catherine who drives the airport shuttle had gone to pick up a passenger downtown and described a horrible wreck she almost was involved in due to the bad rain and wind gusts that were strong enough to move her big shuttle bus. THEN, a company called Mobile Bay shuttled in two Mexican guys, but they ended up missing their flight cause of the bad weather and blamed the company saying they wanted to sue them and all this fun stuff. I let them use my phone to call Mobile Bay Transportation (its really an alternate parking lot and shuttle service thats located across the street so we deal with them VERY frequently). He was grateful to me, but was a little frustrated when I told him there was no Mexican consulate in town @_@ What kind of big city does he think Mobile is? lol After that incident, I had to help some guy who could barely speak english get his ride to a shipping company. Of course, those places give these poor guys numbers where after 5pm you only can get answering services where the operator doesnt know jack about the company she's taking a message for (Misty used to work for one of these companies). Luckily I got his ride. I dealt with some Dutch guy (well, he looked Turkish, but was speaking dutch cause I could understand him somewhat what with the German similarities and all when he spoke to his company back in wherever.) today with the same problem. I never got anyone for him, After he stayed at the airport 5 hours waiting for his late luggage, a taxi took him cause the taxi driver knew where his ship was located. Going back to yesterday, another crazy situation occured on the 9:30 flight from Dallas which came in 30 minutes late. Upon landing, a female passenger attacked a male flight attendant. She started punching him or something. I was outside on break talking to Catherine when we noticed all the police officers running like mad up the stairs. After detaining her in a cel and going through what happened, he changed his mind on pressing charges against her and they let her go. I asked Catherine if it was a full moon cause it was a crazy day.. She looked up, and reported only seeing clouds and lighting therein. Cindy, who worked opening shift had said that earlier in the day, some kid went screaming up and down the airport running away from ticket agents and police officers cause he didnt want to get on the plane. He wanted his mom who was not going with him. I think she said that they sent him home with his mom. Later in the evening, one other hectic incident occured when 7 valet customers came in on one plane including the lady whose car was struck by lightning. Poor Colin was the only one working. Its normal for two to come in at the same time which is no problem, but 7 is a once in a blue moon type thing. After ringing them all up, I offered to help him, but he said he'd just "run like hell". Two people just followed him out to the lot and got them there. I dont think he informed the lady of her car though -.- I almost did, lol, but then she was like, "What happened to my car !?!?". I then said "ummm, it rained after he washed your car.." and she said "Oh, that cant be helped." then smiled. double -.-* Thats pretty much that day...... such a headache ! oh yeah, and Logan slamming on the breaks at a light that just turned yellow was also not fun. Today was pretty bleh.. It stormed a lot as I drove to work... Heavy torrential rain as usual, but not so much lightning. It cleared up by the time I got there. I went on the concourse again today for someone who said her daughter had the wrong papers. Luckily the really nice (and Im assuming, gay) Northwest agent guy was working up there. The girl naturally didnt have the envelope her mom claimed she did so I went back and finally got her to go see Rose (mean NW agent) at the ticket counter to see if the envelope was in her checked bags. The lady tried to give me a ten dollar bill as a tip and I refused it. She said that her husband was trying to hurt them so she was secretly beginning steps towards suing him and needed those legal documents. Less than 15 minutes later, a guy tried to give me a $3 tip for offering to put an envelope containing a pocketknife he left in his pocket in the mailbox to be mailed to his home. He was worried about missing his flight by going to get the stamps and whatnot. I turned down the tip yet again and did it right away for him. Then allwas good the rest of the evening.. all flights arrived on time.. I was ready to get outta there at 11pm when suddenly a nice mexican man was confused on how to use the phone and complained he couldnt understand who he called and that he couldnt get his money back on the phone. I told him how to do a collect call and he was thrilled it worked. He came and spoke to me a it, probaly to practice his english some, and I told him about Mobile cause he was interested in starting a business here. Yeah, Its been a while, I know... Not that anything special has kept me away or anything. Ive just not ben in the mood to write lately... or to draw.. Work is good. I see crazy characters all the time still, and work quite a few hours. Hopefully, much more in the upcoming month. I finally got enrolled in the university again after braving a horrendous storm to get there. It puts me at much ease to know Im back in school. I like being there.. I like going to classes.. I like the fact that Im trying to do something with my life since I have the opportunity. Today, I registered for my classes and here's the list: Its definitely a full plate, but I need it since I missed a year by going to Germany. Naturally, I only got three classes out of that, it seems. The proof of my other three classes I took in Passau are still M.I.A. =( Total price for these classes including fees: $2,058.15 I have no (decent) scholarship or loan, so I have to pay that money myself. Its a crapload more than Ive ever paid due to insanely increasing rates over the past year. I mean, my jaw literally dropped. $88 of it was athletic fee alone. That used to be only about $30, and registration fee went up to $60 from $40. So far Ive got $1000 with my check next week and a month to raise the rest. If I dont make it, then I can do the tuition payment plan and pay the rest off over the semester. (or probably with the next paycheck after the deadline.) As for my not so decent scholarship, I'll get half that money back at the end of the semester provided I pass each class. Heh, Im taking an art class... I used to be so against that, but its pretty much something I should quit being so immature about because its inevitable if I want to improve or seek that line of work one day. Why Physics? cause Its preferred to take sequential sciences and silly me didnt think of that when I took Astronomy (Physics 101) >.< Its a boring day today... Its hot too. I could watch some Tenchi GXP, but I dont really feel like anime. Though if I had the last two eps of Wolf's rain, I'd be glued to them !! Alas, they elude me =( (Toboe is such a cutie, lol) So does any episode of Kaleido Star after episode 9. mou >.< Hurry up you lazy fansubbers !! lol. Ive seen a CRAPLOAD of anime over the past week, and I will now review each one: This reminds me of Battle Athletess (which I found highly entertaining) because its about a girl who travels to a satellite school to study piloting. Even the art/character design looks the same. I only saw episode 1, which is not enough to really get into the story, but I definitely would like to see more. This dark, moody tale captivated me from the beginning and left me aching to see more. Kiba is a wolf who is wandering through a tough, cruel, futuristic world in search of paradise. Wolves have supposively been extinct for 200 years, but in the city, Kiba finds others in the form of humans, something he feels demeans wolf pride, but eventually realizes is necessary for his own survival. And I'll have you know, Human Kiba = HOT. There's also some girl being studied that has a reaction to wolves, but episode 1 didnt reveal too much about her. Sugar is an annoying piece of eye candy compared to Mirumo !! Sure Mirumo isnt cute like Sugar. He's a little roly-poly goofy looking fairy, but instead of driving everyone (including the viewer) insane with constant, whiney yelling, he's a little chocolate-obsessed jerk who goes to the human world to escape marrying his much despised fiancee. There, he reluctantly decides to help a young, clutsy, scatter-brained girl win the heart of a boy she likes. Its very entertaining *nod* I got this on DVD the other day and its depressingly only three episodes long. Four "Beasts" go on an adventure to save their Jinns and find Gaia in order to gain lots of treasure. Kappei Yamaguchi does the voice of the tiger boy Wan, and he's absolutely perfect for the role ! Koyasu Takehito does the voice of Bud, and I cant imagine anyone else for that character either. His goofy character voice is just as great as his hot, bishonen guy voice. Sucks to you who watch it dubbed. The best part about bud and the bird tribe is that they alway says funny phrases in English. The artwork looks very similar Knights of Ramunes, but I cant officially confirm that. Also, if you watch it and can figure out the Giant Robo joke, then you are a true otaku ! This was a fun adventure. I cant see why its the top anime/manga series, but I feel the same about DBZ. Good, but not the best. Luffy is a boy made out of rubber with a goal of becoming the pirate king. To accomplish this, he must find a crew to find the great treasure One Piece. The artwork/character designs are not especially appealing. They seem to reek of Toriyama. If I didnt know better, I would have said it was actually by Toriyama. Anyways, its worth a shot because it is fun, but as I said, its not something you're going to want to worship. C-R-A-P.............. This is obviously a lame kids' anime. Whoever fansubbed it really could have found a better project. A girl named Kasumi goes to live at a place called Kasumi house after her parents leave the country for a year. The house turns out to be populated by people called Henamon (weird things). One is like a cloud guy, a dragon baby, and a sakura woman, and they are upset to see Kasumi (called Kasumin by the Henamon) has no power to pull her ears out, stick out her tongue and transform into something, but they allow her to stay there in their house with wierd talking objects all around (kinda like in Beauty and the Beast, only pure crap). The artwork and char designs are very poor and cheezily done. The story is dull and obviously aimed at the youngins. Steer clear of this one. Ive been d/l more episodes of this like crazy ! Nina is a magic girl who transferred to a school on earth and made friends with the popular girl Ayu who has a crush on a cute boy in her class. When Nina tries to help Ayu out with her sub-par magic skills, all sorts of wacky stuff results ! Weird Name, Fun Maho Shoujo Anime !! XD I sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo want this on DVD right now. Tsuzuki is great !! I love him and his sweets fetish !! lol. Muraki is also such a wonderously fucked up bad guy too. Tsuzuki and Hisoka are a newly partnered pair of Shinigami detectives for Enma-cho who investigate supernatural related deaths which usually lead them to the sadistic Doctor Muraki. Yummy bishonens, pleasant comedy, subtle (on the good guy side) to agressive (on the bad guy side) yaoi, fun monster-related adventures, and traditional magic means I definitely like this series. Its too bad I cant find a working episode 8 and a subbed episode 11 =( Its almost like the Slayers but refreshingly different!! I was a big Slayers fan, but now that its all been experienced, there hasnt been a good, comedic, fantasy adventure to take its place until now. A group of three women, one a cleric, one a brute warrior, the other a thief skilled with knives are looking to break into some ruins in search of treasure but need to recruit a sorcerer. Enter Riui (Louis). His a big, strong, sexy, long haired, sorcerer-in-training with arrogance up the wazoo. He and the group cross paths and get off on the wrong foot from the begining. Its a laugh riot I tells ya ! And I loved it ^o^ Cute Cat-Girl anime with a touch of Mahou Shoujo. The story isnt that elaborate. Taruto is a kitten that is truly a princess of a fallen cat tribe meaning she has magic powers. In the Human world, they only view her as a cat, but we see her as a very small human with cat ears and a tail. Iori is her ditzy owner who has a thing for growing and cooking vegetables. Taruto loves him dearly and often fantasizes about marrying him -.- Its a little strange, but cute fun. Taruto and her new cat friends go on misc. odd adventures and whatnot. If you want plot, Id stay away from this. But if you just want to see a cute heartwarming anime thats just a bunch of goofy stuff, check it out. I think everyone has seen this by now since it comes on Cartoon Network, so I wont go too much into detail on it. I got the dvd the other day and I enjoyed it very much. The story is interesting and holds me in therefore I recommend it........... but no dubs please. A young girl with a talent for athletics and gymnastics has her heart set on going to audition and be accepted as a performer in the Kaleido Stage. Its like a fancy Cirque du Soleil (sp?) on the west coast of the US. After being late, she gets one last chance and becomes accepted despite much scorn from the main star of the group. I enjoyed this one as well. Its different. M'eh, this one is okay. Its worth seeing the rest. In a fanatasy world, a snooty, spoiled princess is being taken away by her foster siblings because everyone wants to kill her for she is prophesized to bring and end to the world on her 16th birthday. It has its funny moments coupled with plenty of action. (O.o) (o.o) (o.O) (>.<) (O.O) Yes, its THAT weird. I cant even tell you what its about. Its dark, gloomy with fancy freaky animation. They dont even talk through over half the episode. Boxer dude, going crazy in sewer like place... slutty robot girl has sex with him..... he hits her... another guy follows girl in Kitsune Noh Mask.. People get shot. soooooooooo.... I dunno. Gackt does the end theme song though, lol. For those of you wary of the existence of a Ninja Scroll sequel after the Ninja Resurrection incident (where ADV marketed the anime Makai Tenshou as such), this is truly what it claims to be. Its the continuing adventures of Kibagami Jubei from Ninja Scroll. Sadly, Im dissapointed. The artwork is not to my liking. Its ugly and low on quality at times. Some of the bad guys are so overly mecha its not even funny. The music is pretty bad too.. They shouldve stuck with traditional Japanese music or some form of it instead of like, alternative music. The story itsself is not too bad though. Im interested in it, but its the only redeeming quality of the series. I swear to god in some places it seems almost American. I'd bet money that it was partially made for the market in the US. I loved this one. Its a cutsey RPG spoof. Cant go wrong with it ! A young boys parents pressure him into accepting an offer to become a hero by beating a horrible demon king that has reawakened. He pairs up with a whiney, guruguru magic user who always forgets how to do spells right. Kami likey ^_^ Cute, colorful, romantic.... A boy returns to a city he once lived in after seven years with no memory of what happened while he was there. He then starts running into girls who all claim to remember him and have some sort of romantic tie. Although the anime is innocent, and from what I read gets really sad, its based on a hentai game -.- I think I'll pass on the rest of the series. This started as an odd, somewhat, but not really comical romance between a guy and a clutsy girl. I grew bored of their relationship fast and found myself skipping around the episode............. and then........ suddenly..... Planes were flying around shooting at each other, blowing stuff up, etc etc. o.o and then he, all bloodied and injured, finds her with this huge mecha stuff coming out of her body. Weird. Im curious to see more now, but I dont have high hopes on the series improving. This is a funky somewhat entertaining mecha anime.......... and thats all Im really gonna say about it. I, ummmm, expected something else out of this. As a huge fan of Chrono Trigger, the prospect of seeing such an anime trilled me to no end. Instead of an adventure with Chrono and the gang, This tale was a goofy bit of foolishness featuring Nuu and that little, spinning, white. fuzzy rat thing. =| It was okay..............
